- Local storage only. Game settings and preferences (such as premium status and haptic feedback preferences) are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. This data never leaves your device.
In-App Purchases
The app offers a one-time premium upgrade for $4.99. Payments are processed securely through Stripe. When you make a purchase:
- Your payment information is handled entirely by Stripe and is never stored on our servers or within the app.
- We receive a confirmation of payment status (paid or not paid) to unlock premium features. We do not receive or store your credit card number or billing details.

Data We Do Not Collect
To be clear, we do not collect:
- Personal identification information (name, email, address, phone number)
- Location data
- Device identifiers for advertising or tracking purposes

The app uses the following third-party services:
- Stripe — for processing premium upgrade payments. Stripe collects payment information as described in their privacy policy.
- The Game Crafter — the app contains a link to purchase the physical board game. Clicking this link opens an external website governed by its own privacy policy.
Children's Privacy
Snakes & Newts is a family-friendly game suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children or any other users. Since the app does not collect personal data, it complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
Data Security
Since we do not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is minimal risk of data exposure. Local preferences stored on your device are protected by your device's built-in security features.
